WinSFA is excited to receive bids (applications) for Chairs to run Keycon 2026.
Intention to Bid will be close soon. Get them in ASAP.
What do I need to bid?
Two people and an idea.
How do I bid?
Step 1: Submit an Intention to Bid
You can:
- E-mail bids@keycon.org with you and your partner(s) name and contact information: e-mail address(s) and phone number(s).
- Print this PDF form, fill it out and submit it to any active WinSFA Senator or Conchair.
- Tear off a piece of paper, write your and your partner’s name and contact info on it, and submit it to any active WinSFA Senator or Conchair.
Upon submission of your Intention to Bid form, you will be provided with some reading material. This will include an outline of the obligations and expectations of running Keycon, a list of required and suggested ConCom positions and responsibilities, and samples of opening an closing budgets. From this material, you can start to prepare your plans on how you would run your convention.
Step 2: Develop your bid proposal
You are not on your own when running a convention. The Senate consists of people who all have been involved in running conventions and are available to mentor you. If you would like, they can even assist with your bid proposal!
Step 3: Present your idea to WinSFA Senate
Senate will take proposals and schedule a meeting to consider all Conchair bid proposals, typically in the fall. We ask for both written materials and an oral presentation.
Step 4: Wait for the Conchairs to be selected
Depending on the number of proposals, selection is typically shortly after the proposals are presented.
If you are named Conchairs, you will be required to name a Convention Committee (ConCom), identifying the people who will help you put on Keycon, and begin more detailed plans.
And the adventure begins.
